So is Britain REALLY Brassic?

I would love someone to explain something to me…

For what seems like absolutely ages, every British politician has been banging on about how skint our country is. Yet we still have billions of pounds to waste on totally OTT celebrations like the golden jubilee or the Olympics. I cannot begin to imagine how much money literally went up in smoke just for the fireworks alone in each of these ‘celebrations’!

So how come we afford to pay for all of that? And couldn’t this money have been used for something a little more constructive????

Or maybe I am just missing something…

Social Media in Society

At the risk of alienating myself from tens of millions of addicts and at the same time sounding older than the hills around me, social networking has become one of the most prevalent cancers modern society is ever likely to face. Don’t get me wrong, I am in no way and antisocial creature and I like nothing more than reaching out to friends and family at every possible moment, but what I am talking about here is the way in which a 100% social tool has resulted in a plague of antisocial behavior the likes of which I am already sick to the back teeth of. For example, when Facebook first came along it was heralded as a wonder of the modern age and provided us all with a new way of emailing, chatting and sharing photographs with those we may have been situated long distances from. However, fast forward a few short years and these services have not only replaced traditional social interaction in the lives of millions, but pretty much replaced their lives in their entirety.

Where Is the Society Heading to?

One of the standard college dictionaries define moral as ‘to be concerned with right conduct or the distinction between right or wrong’.

Today’s public schools do not fear that children might bring chewing gums to school, but that they might bring guns, knives or drugs. Harassment and sexual behavior are commonplace in halls and classrooms.

Studies show that from 1960 to 1993 there has been a 560 percent increase in violent crime, a 419 percent increase in illegitimate births, a quadrupling in divorce rates and more than a 200 percent increase in the teenage suicide rate. These figures surely predict the fall of our society and that may be its too late to even fix it.

Defining Socialism

Whenever you feel the need to find out something specific for instance “what Dqglobal is”, you can opt for a simple Internet search. You will come across some official sources of information such as the official DQ web site. You could learn that these folks are actually high-class providers of data deduplication software that addresses the verification and data cleansing services all software program needs. So things sound pretty simple from this stand point. But what if one would be interested in learning all about socialism and its true definition? Here, things might look a little different.

What is socialism?

An environmental policy?!

A few years back the European Union managed to promote the environmental construction ideas of the future with great legal and procedural amendments in its plans to cut down carbon emissions. People were desperately seeking providers and checking websites such as http://www.britainsbestsolarpanels.co.uk/ in order to make the dream switch to green power. However, just a few years later we are now encountering a different attitude of the Union towards green energy.

Is Capitalism Really Acceptable?

When the Conservative- Liberal Democrat Coalition Agreement was published in 2010 by the new government following the elections, it proposed to bring about banking reforms and address the financial services sector’s unacceptable bonuses. In spite of the public outcry, the question still remains, “Why should these unacceptable bonuses be given up?”, and who determines what is an unacceptable bonus? It seems too hypocritical for the government to be beating up on the capitalist simply because the public outcry is loud.

Animal Welfare & Politics

Back in 2006 a new political party was launched in the United Kingdom, called ‘animals count’ which seeks to campaign for animal rights. There political message was clear ‘”The time is right for a party dedicated to animals. Animals count – they count on you.”

In the pre-election campaign of the New Labour party in 1997 the members pledged to make changes to better the situation around many animal welfare issues, this included a ban on Vivisection (experiments on live animals). However there is light for the animals in the political spectrum, which shines in the form of the ‘Green Party’. In an analysis conducted by an organisation called ‘Protecting Animals in Democracy’ the Green Party polled joint first. Not surprisingly the hunting friendly bunch Conservative party polled worst with the UKIP coming up behind them.

Gay Marriage

As someone who stands in the lefty corner I can fully support the call for gay marriage and for those couples who wish to marry to be allowed to do it where they want to. Those that oppose gay marriage are discriminating against the LGBT community and in doing so are denying them their human rights. LGBT rights are protected under the humans rights act, although many that oppose the LGBT community do not respect or recognise their human rights.

Smacking your child: Right or Wrong

Smacking your children when they do something wrong or as a form of punishment has been around since who knows when… It certainly is a very controversial subject and one that ignites a lot of passion is many. With recent debates on the subject being brought up by my left wing political brothers I thought it was about time to fire up the laptop, start blogging and get my own opinion out there.

RMN jobs

, nurses’ jobs, doctors’ jobs…all are being advertised on a regular basis across the UK. Following the coalition’s reception to the proposed changes in public healthcare it is perhaps not very surprising that so many positions are available to fill throughout the NHS. For a party that swore it would not touch the NHS if it were to win the election, the Conservatives have shown themselves to the be the two faced liars they really are by introducing legislation that could signal the beginning of the end for one of the UK’s most loved and revered services.
